Description
CANON EW-78D
Lens Hood for CANON EW-78D
Useful Information:
Light (natural or artificial) hitting the lens causes various "whitish" infiltrations. Have you ever noticed, for example, a kind of haze effect on your subject when photographing them in bright sunlight? Direct sunlight or light reflected from objects and clouds leads to poor color rendition, making them softened and hazy. Contrast also suffers because light infiltrations attenuate blacks in your photograph, as if you had photographed with a veil in front of the lens. Attaching a lens hood allows you to block these "bad" light intrusions. I'm referring to that part of the light that is not needed by the sensor to take the photograph, but rather comes from outside the field you are framing and is unnecessary and even annoying. In photographs taken with a lens hood, colors will be richer and more noticeable. The lens hood, in fact, performs the same function as a baseball cap or your hands when you use them to shield yourself from a blinding light source and see better.
