Key Features

1 The best for optical performance

The F2.8 Art zoom, the flagship of its series, was designed with the primary goal of achieving the best optical performance.

Made from ultra-low dispersion optical glass, six "F" low dispersion (FLD) lenses and two special low dispersion (SLD) glass lenses are employed in its design, according to the particular optical scheme of mirrorless lenses. Thanks to the use of three aspherical lenses, this zoom corrects axial and sagittal chromatic aberration, difficult to correct in post-production. At all focal lengths, the zoom offers the same high resolution both at the center and at the edges of the image.

It also features Super Multi-Layer coatings and Nano Porous Coating*. This lens is designed to minimize disturbances caused by incident light such as flare.

Its design, calibrated for modern mirrorless cameras, has significantly reduced its weight and size.

• SIGMA's proprietary NPC (Nano Porous Coating) technology involves the use of porous silicon. The porous silicon layer creates tiny nanometric voids containing air. These pores significantly reduce the refractive index, which is lower when compared to other types of anti-reflective coatings. This leads to a drastic reduction in light causing flare and ghosting, and improved contrast along with better image clarity.

2 Full compatibility with the latest full-frame mirrorless cameras.

The SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 DG DN is perfectly compatible with the bodies of the latest full-frame mirrorless cameras with L-mount and Sony-E mount, which allows for the best performance in all shooting situations, both in professional and advanced amateur use.

For example, various functions can be assigned to the AFL button from the camera, increasing its photographic operability. Thanks to the use of a "stepper" motor and the latest algorithms, fast and silent autofocus is achieved. Furthermore, the lens is compatible with Eye-AF Detection autofocus, a mode increasingly used in mirrorless cameras that offers very accurate focusing in portrait photography.

3 Suitable for many photographic genres

The minimum focusing distance of 18 cm at the wide-angle focal length allows you to get close to the subject, almost touching it with the lens hood. The maximum magnification ratio is 1:2.9 at wide-angle and 1:4.5 at telephoto. This allows for a wide variety of close-up shots.

Furthermore, the lens can operate in various contexts, thanks to its weather-sealed construction and zoom lock, which prevents accidental changes in focal length. All this meets the most diverse photographic needs. It is also worth noting that an AF/MF slider, like that of other SIGMA lenses, is integrated into the barrel of this zoom. It is equipped with all essential basic functions.

The barrel construction is very precise, and the focus and zoom rings are pleasant to the touch.
