The latest large-aperture wide-angle zoom built specifically for full-frame mirrorless cameras - "The unparalleled lens for astronomical photography" with impressive resolution.

Many photographers shoot with low sensitivities to achieve images with minimal grain. Especially when shooting starry skies, bright wide-angle lenses are preferred for their ability to capture even faint glimmers of light. The 14-24mm F2.8 DG DN | Art is the latest in bright wide-angle zooms, particularly suitable for photographing starry skies with full-frame mirrorless cameras. The uniform rendition and exceptional resolution across the entire frame make it "the undisputed lens for astrophotography." Thanks to the characteristics of the short flange back mount, this new generation high-luminosity zoom offers both a reduced body size and high-resolution images.
Product identification acronym: the lens acronym includes the letters DG when it is built to provide maximum performance when used with cameras equipped with a full-frame sensor. The letters DN identify short flange back lenses.

Main features

1. New high-performance lens for full-frame mirrorless cameras
Mirrorless cameras are increasingly present on the market, and the expectation for lenses that can fully exploit their high quality is growing. Many photographers might think that they cannot choose high-performance lenses with various focal lengths for mirrorless cameras, other than original ones.
This would force them to have cameras from multiple systems in their kit. SIGMA offers this new series of lenses for full-frame mirrorless cameras as the optimal solution for these needs.
SIGMA will offer interchangeable lenses with unprecedented specifications and performance for modern short flange back mirrorless cameras, while maintaining the characteristics of the "Contemporary", "Art" and "Sport" series. We announce the first three new lenses in these series.
(1) 45mm F2.8 DG DN | Contemporary
Very compact, it is built to maintain high image quality and compatibility with mirrorless cameras. A fixed focal length, it improves the design concept of the Contemporary line.
(2) 35mm F1.2 DG DN/Art
The world's first* 35mm F1.2 L-mount and Sony E-mount lens for the full-frame mirrorless system. The high image quality of the Art line is maintained even at the maximum aperture of F1.2.

Ultra-wide-angle zoom lens for mirrorless cameras. While maintaining the high image quality of the Art line, its size has been reduced thanks to its exclusive design for mirrorless cameras.

2. High image resolution offered by the lens has been achieved thanks to low-dispersion optical glass elements and NPC (Nano Porous Coating) treatment of the lenses.
One FLD optical glass element and five SLD glass elements have been used to minimize chromatic aberration even at the edges of the image. Three aspherical lenses, including a large-diameter aspherical lens, at the front, are used to reduce chromatic aberration, flare, etc., thus achieving incredible resolution. The super multi-layer lens treatment is combined with a new treatment called NPC (Nano Porous Coating)*. The optical design of the lens has also been studied to be minimally affected by strongly incident light, such as backlight.
*The special SIGMA technology for lens coating, called "NPC (Nano Porous Coating), uses porous silicon. This silicon layer contains air-filled nano bubbles. Since these bubbles significantly contribute to decreasing the refractive index, the coating reduces reflectivity better than the anti-reflective layers of conventional materials. The result is a drastic reduction in flare and ghosting, leading to a clearer and more defined image.

3. Functions that help the photographer even in difficult shooting conditions
The stepping focus motor ensures quiet and fast AF. Focusing is easy even in video shooting, for example with the face recognition function. The AFL button can be customized to perform different functions, thus increasing the lens's operational possibilities. Furthermore, the lens's weather sealing and the water and oil repellent coating of the front lens facilitate its operation in any situation.

4. Rear filter holder, standard accessory
The lens comes standard with a rear filter holder equipped with an anti-drop lock for attaching rear gelatin filters for shooting starry skies.
