Special anti-reflective coatings have been applied to these filters, significantly reducing glare.

The filter has two main functions:

• UV Reduction: Filters of this type effectively reduce the amount of ultraviolet spectrum that the camera receives. This is particularly important when shooting analog, using traditional synthetic materials, which are much more sensitive to UV radiation than digital sensors. UV filters are mainly useful for excursions, where there is a higher concentration of UV rays. By considerably eliminating this band of radiation, great benefits will be gained in the clarity and sharpness of images;
• Lens Protection: In addition to its UV reduction functions, the filter is generally used to protect the front elements of the lens from scratches and impacts, preserving the lens.
